Health and safety issues dog Antonina and Paranaguá

The Brazilian Ministry of Public Works in partnership with the Regional Works Superintendency has encountered irregularities in working conditions at the ports of Antonina and Paranagua, following a health and safety audit.

Personal protection equipment was not made available, while there was a total lack of control of people moving on and off ships.

In addition, the audit identified a lack of vertical and horizontal signage on the quays themselves. The port authority is looking into ways of correcting these errors, which will involve talking to port operators.
