APMT snares Callao North concession
An APM Terminals-consortium has been awarded the concession to operate the Muelle Norte terminal at the Peruvian port of Callao.
The consortium also includes a Dutch company, Callao Port Holding, and Central Portuaria from Peru. The only other bid was entered by a HPH, Port Investment Ltd, and Sino invest consortium.
A total of $749m will be invested in modernising and upgrading berths 1-5 to form a coherent container handling facility.
The National Ports Authority (Enapu) will receive up to 33% of the profit generated by the concession payable to the state.
