Hybrid crane order for Kaohsiung Terminal

The order was placed in Q3 2024 and the cranes will be delivered in the middle of next year.

“This new order will ensure a long and productive future for their container handling operations in Taiwan, and it underlines the strength of our relationship and their confidence in our technology.”

The hybrid RTGs use a battery for all operations, returning captured braking energy to the battery and extending the operation time. A small diesel genset is used to charge the battery.

Each machine is fitted with an ergonomic cabin and four smart features to enhance efficiency, namely auto-steering, auto-positioning, stack collision prevention and auto-TOS (terminal operating system) reporting.

This order is part of Ecolifting, Konecranes’ vision to increase its handprint – meaning the beneficial environmental impact that can be achieved with its product and service portfolio – while reducing customers’ carbon footprints.
