Buenaventura continues investment despite traffic fall

Although traffic at the Colombian port of Buenaventura fell by more than 5% during the first quarter, the planned investment programme for 2009 by port company Sprbun will continue. April has seen a significant rise in the number of bulk carriers visiting the port and it is hoped that this traffic will continue to grow. In all, $17.7m will be invested this year on infrastructure upgrades.
