Antaq to rule on third party traffic

Controversy continues in Brazil regarding privately-owned terminals handling third-party traffic.

The regulatory body, Antaq, has set up a working group to establish the minimum levels of traffic a private terminal should be handling.

This will look at private terminals at Manaus, Embraport, Santa Catarina container terminal (Tecon) and Portonave, which is also in the Port of Santa Catarina. Portonave has already been fined $200,000 for alleged irregularities in this area.
