The seventh Motorship Gas Fuelled Ships Conference will focus on the innovation and investment driving the uptake of LNG and other low-flashpoint fuels in the commercial shipping sector.
With a focus on knowledge sharing from a variety of projects, the conference, which takes place in Hamburg from 16 to 18 November, will examine the latest advances in vessel design and operation, propulsion, supply infrastructure and associated technology.
One of the highlights of the conference will be a live interview on stage with the chairman of SEA\LNG with The Motorship editor, Gavin Lipsith.
SEA\LNG is a multi-sector industry coalition, created to accelerate the widespread adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel. The initiative brings together key players in the value chain, including shipping companies, classification societies, ports, major LNG suppliers, LNG downstream companies, infrastructure providers and OEMs, helping to break down the commercial obstacles to transform the localised use of LNG as a marine fuel into a global reality.
Other presentations will come from Simon Provoost, product director, Inland Waterway Transport, Damen Shipyards on Ecoliner: The greenest inland shipping vessel in Europe and René Sejer Laursen, Mechanical Engineer, M.Sc., MAN Diesel & Turbo and Michel Hamrouni, Methanex on Methanol as marine fuel: a competitive option for ships operating in SECA.
