Malmö brings new berth online
Copenhagens Malmö Port (CMP) has inaugurated a new pier to meet rising exportdemands at the Danish port.
Constructed by Danish infrastructure specialist Per Aarsleff A/S, Pier 840 boasts a water depth of 11.5 meters, allowing it to accommodate ships of up to 180 metres in length.
According to marketing coordinator Søren Balken, CMP invested ¢1.5m ($2.1m) in the sea infrastructure, while the port’s customers made sizable investments in land-based infrastructure, including a new pipe-line.
