Markku Mylly, Managing Director of the Finnish Port Association has been elected Executive Director of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) for a term of five years.
Markku Mylly comes with a long-standing experience in the maritime sector. Before his appointment at the Finnish Port Association, Mr Mylly was Director General and Director of the Traffic Department at the Finnish Maritime Administration. Mr Mylly has also been involved in the General Assembly, the Executive Committee and the Marine Affairs and Security Committee of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) for about two years.
Mr Mylly will probably take up his duties after the summer.
