MSC has calculated that the port of Valencia could potentially lose 70% of its current transhipment traffic unless it makes adjustments to operating costs.
This equates to the loss of nearly 1m teu annually.
Conversely, if costs are driven down, by 2021, box throughput at Valencia could rise to 6.2m teu.
