Santos Brasil orders 12 all-electric RTGs
Brasil S/A has ordered 12 Kalmar E-One2 RTG cranes. With a total of 41 machines, the agreement confirms them as the biggest customer of Kalmar E-One RTGs worldwide. The units are for the newly inaugurated Tecon Santos Terminal 4 expansion.
Santos Brasil’s new all-electric, environmentally-friendly 16-wheel RTGs will be 7+1 wide and 1-over-6 high and come equipped with Kalmar Smartrail®, an autosteering and container position verification system. The 16-wheel design puts less stress on terminal surfaces compared to conventional 8-wheel units. The terminal operator’s cranes will feature 55-tonne capacity twin-lift Bromma spreaders with load sensing capability via the twistlocks.
Tecon Santos Brasil is the capable of handling 2 million TEUs per annum.
