Asian Terminal Inc. targets expansion

By expanding its services, ATI aims to improve logistics for manufacturers, shippers and transporters and could seek to develop off-dock container yards, empty container depots and other ancillary facilities, reported Manila Standard.

“As a trade enabler, we are eyeing to develop more facilities that will leverage on our existing gateway ports in Manila and Batangas to better serve our valued customers,” said ATI executive vice president William Khoury.

“These projects will establish greater operational synergies to help the industry cope with current logistics challenges and also create growth opportunities in the long-term,” he added.

ATI expects to have additional capacity for empty containers by mid-year, according to Manila Standard.

Growing portfolio

ATI currently operates Manila South Harbor, the Port of Batangas, Batangas Container Terminal (BCT) and off-dock yards in Sta. Mesa, Manila and Calamba, Laguna.

The company recently said it had invested in new equipment, including ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes, at BCT as it expands the port’s role as trade facilitator and smart logistics option for Calabarzon.

In November, BCT broke through the 200,000 teu cargo volume mark for the first time in a single year since its start-up in 2010.
