Karachi ready to break 1m teu barrier

This project is being financed by Vikram Integrated Logistics Private Limited, which has so far spent €1.73m on developing what will eventually be a €3.46m scheme.

Throughput at Karachi is expected to be 1.1m teu, while Qasim International Container Terminal is on course for traffic amounting to 600,000 teu. This is the first time that Karachi has broken the one million teu mark and has been made possible through the attraction of additional traffic as the result of draught deepening.
