Maersk CFS blaze kills two

The blaze was quickly brought until control, but not in time to save approximately 5% of the containers in the section that caught fire.

While statutory and local authorities visited the premises, Maersk CFS confirmed it had also initiated an investigation by an independent safety officer.

The rest of the containers and the large unaffected section of the facilities are reportedly “safe and clear”, according to APM Terminals.
