NamPort secures US loan

There are inherent difficulties with the bid which requires certain conditions that the Indonesian government might find difficult to approve.

The United States Trade and Development Agency has awarded Namibian Ports Authority (NamPort) a grant of $400,000 for port development and expansion projects. NamPort is trying to become a hub for those countries of the Southern African Development Community lacking their own coastal outlet. According to NamPort, the money will be used to provide technical assistance in upgrading IT provision, security and petroleum-receiving operations at the ports of Walvis Bay and Luderitz.
