PSA first in Indonesia
PSA International, Mitsui, NYK and IPC have joined forces on the construction and operation of a new container terminal at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, Indonesia under a newly established project company, PT New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1).
With a planned annual handling capacity of 1.5m teu, an overall berth length of 850 metres, and a 16-metre draft, the terminal will be able to berth the largest containerships afloat today.
The operators are keen to go ‘green’ and are looking at cold ironing among other environmentally-friendly options, said NPCT1.
The project marks the first for PSA International in Indonesia.
