Sustained strong demand for Australian coal has led to a need for capacity expansion at the terminal to meet the needs of existing and potential mining customers.

According to Maersk, the Chinese port of Qingdao is the most efficient in the world, achieving hourly berth productivity of 181 moves. The port has also retained its leading position in terms of iron ore throughput and also in loading efficiency for iron ore vessels.
