SECURITY DRILL
A counterterrorism drill has been run at Yangshan in readiness for its opening.
The bill would also call for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to enhance international supply chain security for all modes of transportation by which containers arrive in, depart from or move through the United States.
The exercise took the shape of an attack by two ‘terrorists’ hiding in a container. One was captured, while the other escaped and set off a mock suicide bomb, setting the container on fire, the Shanghai Daily reported. The alert level for the port was raised, road blocks set up and the fire extinguished according to the paper.
