Shanghai investors seek European port possibilities
Shanghai International Port Group is reportedly seeking investment opportunities in European ports.
This will be the first time the group has invested outside of Asia. Investment will be made during the current year, although it has not been disclosed which ports SIGP will target.
However, a team from the company did recently visit the Belgian port of Zeebrugge, apparently following a request from Maersk, which is nevertheless unlikely to surrender a majority stake to the Chinese.
