ThyssenKrupp forges China coal links

The company has now completed the commissioning of a continuous shipunloader designed to handle coal at Houshi power plant at Xiamen in Fujian province. The plant already has two ThyssenKrupp unloaders in operation.

The new unit offers unloading speeds of over 1,800 tonnes per hour for coal and can serve ships of up to 100,000 dwt. The unloading process can be carried out by radio control or by using video aid from a cabin located next to the bucket elevator.

Earlier this year, the company announced it had delivered four grab unloaders to two coal-receiving power stations in China.
