ISS nabs Ancon

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) has acquired the Ancon depot in Antwerp.

A window system offering priority berth and ship-working slots according to an agreed call schedule was introduced.

The move gives ISS control of the two largest independent container depots in Belgium. ISS has operated the 6,000TEU depot of Gelcon, since 1985. However, there was no water connection available. With Ancon ISS has access to almost 300 metres of quayside and can now offer barge facilities and rail links.
