Kalmar fuel economic tractors aid efficiency

A total of 38 Kalmar terminal tractors will be supplied to Yilport Holding Inc. 36 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors will go to its Puerto Bolívar terminal in Ecuador and two Kalmar heavy terminal tractors will be for its Gävle terminal in Sweden. Delivery is due to be completed by Q2 2021.

As part of the agreement Kalmar has guaranteed a maximum fuel consumption for the Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors during the warranty period. Fuel consumption will be monitored with Kalmar Insight performance management tool, which gathers data from the fleet and turns that into actionable, impactful insights.

Yilport acquired Gävle Container Terminal in Sweden in 2014 and expanded into Latin America in 2016 with its acquisition of the Puerto Bolívar terminal in Ecuador.

DP World deal

Kalmar has also recently signed a deal with long-term partner DP World for 12 Ottawa T2 terminal tractors and two empty container handlers to be deployed at the DP World Caucedo terminal in the Dominican Republic.

The equipment fleet at Caucedo was expanded during 2020 with 38 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors as part of an order from late 2019. This latest batch of 12 will incorporate the same additional safety features including the Automatic Fire Extinguisher System.

Delivery is scheduled for Q1 of 2021.
