Kalmar to supply FCT strads
Kalmar has made a deal to provide 12 classic straddle carriers to Global Ports OJSC Sea Port of Saint Petersburg (JSC) First Container Terminal (FCT) in Russia.
The order, which was booked into parent company Cargotec’s 2017 fourth quarter order intake, will be delivered during the same period in 2018.
FCT is one of Russia’s biggest container terminals and a flagship terminal of Global Ports, the country’s leading operator of container terminals.
Its fleet of Kalmar equipment includes straddle carriers, reachstackers, empty container handlers, fork lifts and terminal tractors.
Commenting on the order, Alexander Tikhov, managing director of JSC FCT, said: “Kalmar equipment has proven itself, and we expect that new machines will further improve the quality of service that FCT provides to its customers today.”
Kalmar straddle carriers’ ergonomic cabin and intuitive user interface boost terminal productivity by guaranteeing that operators have the best possible driving experience, the cargo handling solutions company said.
