Lazero Cardenas and Ningpo opt for Navis

LCT is a single-berth terminal with on-dock rail facilities and the development rights to an 85-hectare deepwater, green field site. LCT’s first year TEU volumes are expected to be 50,000. The Port of Lazaro Cardenas is now the fourth terminal operated by HPH in Mexico that utilizes the Navis SPARCS solution.

And Ningbo Port Authority’s Beilun Second Container Terminal has also selected Navis SPARCS to automate and optimise its increasingly complex operation that has a container throughput growing at 30% a year. Additionally, the terminal chose Vessel Autostow, Navis’ module for automating and optimising vessel planning.

Features found in Navis SPARCS such as Equipment Control, Truck Control and Delivery Selection Optimisation enables the port to maximize its current resources to substantially reduce operational costs and increase efficiency.

Specifically, Navis SPARCS has streamlined gate operations.

Navis SPARCS Delivery Selection Optimisation automatically selects the most accessible container in a yard block for gate deliveries in realtime. The equipment operator’s movements are optimised and the number of unproductive yard shifts are minimized. This rise in operational productivity has resulted in an increased ratio of completed container moves in one hour by more than 99% and an increased ratio in a half an hour from 70% to more than 85%, thus, breaking several operational records at Ningpo.

Navis has now announced that the Third Container Terminal Company of Ningbo Por, has also selected Navis software. The Navis SPARCS software will be implemented for the 2004 opening of Ningbo Port Authority’s Phase Four terminal.
