Liebherr orders for Jeddah and Barcelona
Jeddah North Container Terminal, run by Gulf Stevedoring, has taken delivery of two additional super post-Panamax cranes and five heavy duty RTGs from Liebherr. The crane outreach is 55 metres, capable of handling vessels of 21 containers wide. Capacity under the spreader is 65 tonnes with a heavy lift facility of 75 tonnes. The cranes are equipped with centre spread twin-lift spreaders. The crane drives are DC with Liebherr’ s Digivert Drive System and are also equipped with Liebherr’ s Winscan crane management system including remote diagnostic functions.
Kristiansand needed to be sure that the fendering would be suitable for the catamaran as well as the much larger ferries.
A total of five Liebherr super post Panamax units now operate at the terminal.
Meanwhile Liebherr will supply Terminal Catalunya in Barcelona with two super post-Panamax units which will operate across an 18 container wide deck stow and S.W.L. will be of 60 tonnes under a twinlift spreader.
