Mini and multi cats for Tuapse

The Mini Cat 803, named AGAT, was available from stock as a completely finished vessel. For the Multi Cat 1506, named VEGA, the hull was from stock. Apart from the propulsion and deck equipment, the outfitting included special equipment required for debris collecting, oil pollution control and bilge water collecting.

The Mini Cat 803 is the smallest Damen standard vessel in its Tugs & Workboats series with an LOA of 8.40 metres. The hull outfit includes a rubber push bow and a heavy-duty rope guard made of large diameter steel pipe.

During the trials, a speed of 7.8 knots and a bollard pull of 1.4 tons were measured.

For the debris-collecting task of the 15.50 metre LOA VEGA, a bow collector is fitted which consists of a hydraulically operated basket for recovery of tar balls or debris. This basket scoops up the debris and can drop it on the removable refuse skip fitted on the foredeck. The system is electrically remote controlled. A debris grab is also fitted on the crane. The oil sweeping system consists of a removable Lamor OPC 2 cartridge at each side, with a recovery capacity up to 40 m 3/hr. The cartridges are made of seawater resistant aluminium.

At each side of the vessel an oil-guiding boom of air inflated rubber is fitted, attached to an aluminium spreader jib. The total sweeping width is 18 metres.
