Digital Trade Solutions, a DP World company, is transitioning existing system ‘Compass’ to its cloud-based Community Network Services (CNS) Port Community System (PCS).

This API-platform is based on DP World’s global CARGOES platform, runs on multiple devices and will help businesses respond to regulatory changes with greater ease, says DP World.

“Compass has been an industry-standard solution since 2010,” explained Matthew Bradley, managing director at CNS.

“The idea behind its transition to CNS PCS is to take everything that our customers love about Compass, and refine it so that it is ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.”

CNS PCS is fully HMRC-compliant and provides real-time visibility of the status of shipments and consignments along with the automation of manual processes.

It features an API (application programming interface) allowing all users such as importers, exporters, freight forwarders, shippers and custom brokers to integrate the platform into their existing systems.

Replacing Compass which has been running for 13 years, the new system’s phased roll out began in Belfast during August 2023. The transition for all Compass users is expected to complete in 2025.
