Auckland stalemate

New ZealandsEmployment Relations Authority has been asked to resolve the collectiveemployment agreement impasse between Ports of Auckland and the MaritimeUnion of New Zealand, that recently saw five strike notices issued injust over a month.

Both Maritime Union of New Zealand and Rail and Maritime Transport Union representatives say the proposal, which has been advised by an external consultant, also gives them a target for their pending wage round negotiations.
