New Zealand super port mooted

Merger talks between various New Zealand ports and the frequently-stated desire of shipping companies to rationalise local port calls, is creating increasing interest in the idea of one super portfor all global container trade. Establishing such a world-class facility would consequently enable larger vessels than the 4,100 teu currently seen in the country to achieve faster and more efficient turnarounds.
