The 28-metre craft will add operating capacity to the port’s existing Te Maru tug and the lengthening and deepening of the two North Mole Container terminal berths will position the port to handle growing throughput.

In the recent financial year, the port achieved a new container throughput record of over 77,000 teu – bettering its previous best set last year by 30%.
