Forkliftcenter seals major deal with Grimaldi

The agreement also includes maintenance and servicing and cements a long-standing relationship between the shipping giant and the one-stop shop for port equipment.

“We first worked with Grimaldi over ten years ago,” said Bjørn André de la Porte, chief executive and owner of the Forkliftcenter group. “This new agreement, including maintenance and servicing, builds on that foundation and continues a strong partnership.”

The supply – which is already underway – comprises:

• 15 Konecranes 42 tonne heavy forklifts with special rotating system
• Six Konecranes 12 tonne forklifts with triplex mast
• 12 Bobcat skid-steer loaders converted as car pushers
• Eight Toyota 7 tonne forklifts with triplex mast
• Eight Yale 2.5 tonne forklifts with triplex mast
• Ten Toyota 2.5 tonne forklifts with triplex mast

The equipment has been tailored to the specific needs of the Grimaldi Group and its varied areas of operation. For example, the 42 tonne forklifts have integrated rotators for loading and unloading bulk containers and the skid-steer loaders have been fully converted to serve as car pushers.

“We are glad to continue and expand our cooperation with Forkliftcenter, in the mutual interest of both groups,” said Mario Fuduli, head of the Grimaldi Group Procurement Dept.

“Through this new agreement we will be able to further strengthen our cargo handling operations with state-of-the-art equipment.”
