Kalmar wins Patrick Terminals AutoStrad order
Kalmar has won a major order for 14 hybrid AutoStrad machines from Patrick Terminals, set to be deployed at the Sydney AutoStrad terminal.
The order was recorded in Kalmar’s 2025 Q3 intake, with delivery expected to be completed in Q4 2026.
“This significant order demonstrates the confidence that Patrick Terminals has in our AutoStrad solution,” said Karri Keskinen, head of global sales, Horizontal Transportation at Kalmar.
“We are delighted to be able to extend our collaboration with a company that is a true leader in terminal automation and which shares our passion for innovation and continuous improvement.”
Patrick Terminals handles over 3.5 million teu annually across four coastal ports – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. The new hybrid AutoStrads will complement the 10 hybrid units Patrick Terminals ordered in 2020.
“The Kalmar AutoStrad plays a pivotal role in operations at our Brisbane and Sydney terminals,” explained Michael Jovicic, chief executive of Patrick Terminals.
“The performance, efficiency and reliability of the existing fleet have proven to us that this technology is an ideal fit for our business.
“Our investment in hybrid straddles further demonstrates our continued commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and advancing our decarbonisation strategy.”
