Port management service
A new port management service has been announced at Posidonia 2022 promising a new approach to port call management.
Wilhelmsen’s Port Services will also offer biofouling monitoring using drones to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
“With the establishment of Wilhelmsen Port Services we are taking a long and hard look at the port value chain to see where we can play a bigger role, and we are really looking forward to developing a truly unique port services offering,” says Neal de Roche, president of Wilhelmsen Port Services.
Data sharing during port calls
HIVE is a new, secure hub platform enabling operators and owners to share data and information about port calls by adding them directly into the system. Designed to connect with any existing system, the platform gives users the ability to customise and implement any type of documentation so operations can be standardised across all agents and suppliers.
Biofouling monitoring using drone technology
Wilhelmsen will use ECOsubsea drones to inspect the hull, slashing the cost of biofouling monitoring by more than a reported 70% and reducing risk and time spent. Customers have access to their data in an easy-to-use interface, making it simple to create effective biofouling strategies and an optimised cleaning schedule.
