Saudi Global Ports (SGP) has acquired three automated ship to shore quay cranes and three hybrid automated rubber-tyred gantry units (RTGs) for King Abdulaziz Port Dammam. Adding this new equipment is expected to increase capacity from 2.5 million TEU to 3.2 million TEU and expands the existing fleet of 15 quay cranes and 47 RTGs. A further 15 hybrid RTGs are also on order for arrival in Summer 2024.
