Euroamerica to open third terminal
Argentinian terminal operator Euroamerica SA, which has two port and logistics terminals in Campana, is to open a third: Terminal III Tajiber. The 280ha facility will require investment of $500m, of which $110m has already been allocated.
The multipurpose terminal will have a quay of 330 metres situated on the banks of the Paraná de las Palmas River and a further 1,600 metres of berth in the interior of the dock, where a variety of cargo will be handled, including finished vehicles, containers, cereals, liquid and project cargo.
According to the company, the automotive sector needs a new automotive terminal, since only one main one exists. As for containers, an opening has been identified given that concessions in Puerto Nuevo are due to expire in 2019, with box traffic north of Buenos Aires restricted to Campana-Zárate.
The first phase of the terminal will open in 2018 on an area of 40 hectares, with a 260-metre quay.
