Management centralisation a ‘failure’ in Venezuela

The decision by the government of Venezuela to centralise control of ports in 2009 has resulted in a worsening of operations, according to local sources.

So far, there has been little sign of the promised strategic investment plan and a recent visit by President Hugo Chávez to the port of Cabello prompted him to described it as “abandoned”.
