New Veracruz terminal tender
In Mexico, Veracruz port authority (API) has issued a tender for the construction and operation of a new terminal in the port’s expansion area in Vergara Bay. This replaces an earlier tender that had to be withdrawn upon the insistence of the competition authority (Cofece).
The terminal will have 550 metres of berthing line, of which the first 300 metres will be built immediately, the remaining 250 metres following within six years. The new facility will cover an area of 183,337 metres, all of it reclaimed land.
The deadline to bid for the 20-year concession, is October 26 and an award will be made on November 30.
