Port strike ends in Panama

Stevedores employed by the Panama Ports Company at the Panamanian ports of Balboa and Cristobal agreed to call off a three day strike and commence negotiations with their employer, following arbitration from the government.

However, it is calculated that it will take up to 15 days before activities at the two terminals return to normal.

Around 13 services were affected, with only 13% of dockers turning up to work.
