Problems remain with Brazilian ports legislation

Private investors are still having a tough time of it in Brazil, according to the country’s National Agency for Waterway Transport (Antaq).

Legislation to encourage new investment to be made in public ports, in public-private partnerships or in private ports has brought benefits for the sector, however, serious obstacles remain for private investors wishing to expand existing infrastructure and also build new port terminals.
