With so many different selling points, it can be hard for port operators to sort the surveillance wheat from the chaff. PS looks at some of the main contenders.

MOBOTIX

Top German company Mobotix is one of the best manufacturers of high-resolution video systems. The high-resolution camera allows for greater detail – a single Mobotix high-res camera can offer 3.1 megapixels, as compared with standard analog technology which can offer an image with no more than 0.1 megapixels. That means that Mobotix cameras can record around 30 times more detail than an ordinary camera – a godsend for port operators.

Current cameras include the Allround M24, the DualNight M12, the Monodome D24 and the DualDome D12.

SWANN

Swann Security offers quality security monitoring products – its long-lasting appeal is a result of producing innovative surveillance technology at good value prices.

In addition to supplying domestic security products, Swann also provides professional quality CCTV cameras that boast infra-red night vision as well as digital video recording with motion detection.
