NZL claim heads to court

NZL believes it has a contract right to “re-establish” a terminal operation at the port. However, the port company maintains NZL’s previous role was as a “marshalling” operation only.

While expressing disappointment at having to initiate proceedings, Port of Tauranga chief executive Mark Cairns commented: “We cannot allow this important matter to remain unresolved, nor allow NZL to continue trying to litigate this issue through the media.”
