Port of Gothenburg plays key logistics role

The magazine highlighted the port’s strategic importance in strengthening the region’s position as a leading logistics hub and its continued potential for growth in the sector.

“We are glad to be named not only Sweden’s but now also the Nordic region’s best logistics location,” said Jacob Minnhagen, senior market development manager at the Port of Gothenburg.

“Over the past year we have, together with other logistics actors in the region, worked intensively to create even better conditions for an innovative and growing freight hub that strengthens the region’s international competitiveness.”

Key developments include additional logistics properties and the construction of a new 45,000 sqm central warehouse.

Dagens Logistik assessed the Gothenburg region against factors such as infrastructure, access to labour and sustainability. The Gothenburg region is also highlighted as a national centre for research and development in sustainable logistics solutions, with the port’s role particularly emphasised.

According to Dagens Logistik, the strengths of the Gothenburg region primarily lie in its well-developed infrastructure including rail, road and air links, with the Port of Gothenburg as the hub.

“Our region is characterised by close collaboration between many stakeholders,” continued Minnhagen. “Together, we are working to become even more attractive for business establishments.

“There is skilled labour, a well-developed infrastructure and available land ready for development both now and in the future.”
