Tideworks has announced that its terminal operating system platform is supporting the restart of container operations at Oregon’s only international container terminal, now operating as Oregon Container Terminal under Harbor Industrial’s full operational and commercial management.
Formerly known as the Port of Portland’s Terminal 6, the facility resumed container service in January 2026 following a period of suspension.
“The relaunch of Oregon’s only container terminal represents a significant moment for regional trade and supply chain resiliency,” said Subbu Bhat, interim president and head of engineering at Tideworks Technology. “We value our relationship with the port and our role in providing a scalable technology backbone that positions the new ownership and the terminal for long-term scalability and performance as operations evolve.”
As operations resume, Tideworks’ integrated suite of terminal operating system (TOS) and planning solutions provides the digital backbone for coordinated terminal activities.
The deployment includes Tideworks’ SaaS solutions Mainsail TOS, Spinnaker Planning Management System, Traffic Control, Forecast, Gate Vision and EDI Porter, all delivered through a hosted environment.
The reopening of Oregon Container Terminal is expected to enhance cargo flow efficiency and reduce reliance on out-of-state gateways for Oregon-based shippers. With technology already in place, the terminal is positioned to adapt quickly to changing operational requirements.
