Coastlink is a neutral pan-European network dedicated to the promotion of short sea and feeder shipping, and the intermodal transport networks through the ports that support the sector. It is a place for industry professionals to meet and discuss future innovation, economic and environmental considerations – and develop partnerships that will help build a sustainable future. Committee pushes for ports policy update
The UK Transport Committee has called on the government to strengthen its draft revised National Policy Statement for ports, highlighting the need to streamline planning, support decarbonisation and recognise ports as critical national priority
The report aims to ensure that UK ports can meet growing trade, energy and regional economic demands over the coming decades.
The Committee recommends designating ports as CNP, improving demand forecasts and calls for clearer guidance on what constitutes ‘good design’.
