Peel Ports boosts UK steel capacity

Peel Ports Group has unveiled a £100 million investment in the UK’s steel and metals sector, aiming to significantly increase capacity and improve logistics efficiency across its operations

As part of this plan, the group is already progressing with a £32 million expansion at the Port of Liverpool, which will add 140,000 sq ft (13,000 sqm) of new storage space.

Across its ports of Liverpool and London Medway, Peel Ports will increase warehousing by 50%, creating an additional 500,000 sq ft (46,500 sqm) to support growing demand from construction and manufacturing supply chains.
