SSA Marine has launched the first of six zero-emissions cargo handling equipment pieces scheduled for service at its Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal, at the US West Coast port of San Diego. The first piece of zero-emissions equipment to entering operation is the 55,000-pound capacity Wiggins Yard eBull battery electric forklift, dubbed ‘The Carrillo’. All remaining equipment is due within the next 12-18 months, with partial funding from California’s Clean Off-Road Equipment (CORE) programme.
