Port Klang welcomes foreign investment
Expansion of Port Klang in Malaysia using foreign and Chinese money is being encouraged, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke has said.
“Our focus is on Port Klang. It is our country’s main port and there is a need to increase its capacity as it has a large potential,” said Mr Loke.
“We are working to develop Port Klang as the premier port not only in Malaysia, but also in the South East Asian region,” he added.
Mr Loke stressed the government welcomes investment from the private sector in all its hardware. “We are encouraging, we are welcoming the private sector to invest in rail, ports and airports,” he said.
