The Port of Cork has brought Innovez One on board to help digitalise port calls and operations.

Innovez One will supply its marineM software to Ireland’s second largest port, helping boost the efficiency of service fleets and better manage berths to reduce congestion.

The Port of Cork in Ireland is digitalising port calls and operations

“Digitalisation is an essential foundation that enables ports to tackle the most pressing challenges they face today, from persisting congestion to the need to reduce their emissions,” explained Grant Ingram, chief executive of Innovez One for the UK and Europe.

“Smart ports will also be the ones best placed to position themselves in the greener supply chains of tomorrow, and support decarbonisation in shipping and beyond,” he said.

MarineM will automate the scheduling of port, tug, and pilotage services to manage schedules and dispatch resources, assigning pilots and tugboats to jobs in the most efficient way.

Agents will be able to register their vessels, order services and track the progress of each job from an online portal. The system will also automate the billing process helping reduce delays and disputes.

“We have high ambitions to deliver smarter, greener and more efficient operations, which will benefit our environment as well as the local and national economy,” said Conor Mowlds, chief commercial officer at the Port of Cork Company.

“Having a strong digital backbone is essential to this,” he added.
