Extension of Malayan Flour Mills Jetty

Malayan Flour Mills Berhad (MFMB) is Malaysia’s leading flour-milling company. Their facility in Lumut is undergoing an extensive upgrade and extension project for which ShibataFenderTeam’s Malaysian office has delivered 18 sets of SPC 1150 Cone Fenders, 10 bollards (capacity 80t) as well as 8 bollards (capacity 100t).

Cone Fenders for Phuket Deep Sea Port

ShibataFenderTeam’s Malaysian office had been responsible for the delivery of fenders to Phuket’s Deep Sea Port. The port is located at Phuket’s East coast in the Vichit subdistrict and needed to undergo a major refurbishment. Upgrading the existing jetty facilities involved the extension of the 350 m quay by 60 m. The extended quay will be able to accommodate larger cruise ships between 240 to 340 m lengths and larger general cargo vessels. The existing arch fenders weren’t sufficient any longer which is why it was decided to use Cone Fenders. In total, SFT delivered 33 SPC 1150 Cone Fender System with steel panels (1.9 m x x5.2 m).

The order was placed in September 2018 by the client Phuket Deep Sea Port Co., Ltd. and already in February 2019 all fenders were installed by their local partner with whom the supply and install project was carried out.
