ShibataFenderTeam delivered Cone Fenders to new Hutchison Icave Container Terminal

In 2018 the Hutchison Icave Port in Veracruz, Mexico was expanded by a new container terminal. ShibataFenderTeam delivered 50 SPC 1600 Fender Systems, 47 Pipe Bollards and three Rubber Ladder Sets.

The fender systems that were installed at the new container terminal are optimized to work for container vessels from 30,000 tons up to 260,000 tons displacement. The fenders are designed to work with vessels of different sizes and different tide ranges. All the material has been manufactured to work in the highly corrosive environment, with special marine coating system for the fender panels and all hardware made of AISI Type 316 stainless steel.

After establishing the production and delivery schedule for the project, the client had an urgent demand for an advance shipment of bollards for one section of the pier, as they were expecting the vessel delivering the new cranes. ShibataFenderTeam was able to produce and deliver the needed bollards on time under a very tight schedule given by the customer, executing the entire order within one year. The project is key for the area as it is the first terminal to be finished in the new expanded Veracruz port area.
