Taylor And Rocsys Working Together on Autonomous Charging for the 2nd Generation ZLC Electric Container Handler

Louisville, MS – Taylor Machine Works, Inc., a leader in the design and manufacture of Zero-Emissions Container Handlers and one of the last privately held American manufacturers of material handling equipment, announces partnering with Rocsys in offering robotic charger deployment for the second-generation Taylor ZLC electric container handler.

“Autonomous charging is the next step in our commitment to Battery electric vehicle technology. We are so pleased to be working with Rocsys and what they bring to the table in autonomous charging solutions for us. We look forward to a great relationship together,” stated Robert Taylor, President, and COO of the Taylor Group of Companies.

Autonomous charging of electric vehicles provides the charging at scale around the clock without the need for human interaction at the vehicle. Taylor is committed to providing the best innovative technology and experience the industry can offer. This commitment requires that Taylor is constantly searching for the best components to include in the manufacturing of Taylor equipment. In October 2019 Taylor was involved in a milestone project with the Port of Los Angeles on Clean Air Day with the launch of the first generation ZLC. Since this launch, Taylor continues the search for the best in innovation and technology for equipment componentry.

Crijn Bouman, CEO and Co-founder of Rocsys, commented: “We are pleased to support Taylor by offering autonomous charging solutions that make the charging process of electric top pick vehicles easier and safer. Our solution is simple to implement for Taylor and its customers, as it uses the standard CCS-1 inlet and chargers. We believe this cooperation with Taylor is a milestone and allows us to support autonomous charging in ports and logistics environments, as well as other industrial applications. We look forward to great cooperation in the future.”

Autonomous charging enables dependable and fast charging while reducing wear and tear on charging cables and connectors. Rocsys solutions work with any high-power DC charging station that uses a CCS-1 charging connector, thus allowing autonomous charging with existing charging equipment. Rocsys is an international venture-funded company with EU operations based in the Netherlands and US operations based out of Portland, Oregon.
